What DiveCut does not do

• It does not upload your videos, frames, thumbnails or reels anywhere.
• It does not collect analytics, usage statistics or telemetry.
• It does not include crash-reporting, advertising or tracking software.
• It does not include any third-party software libraries.
• It does not ask for an email address, name or account.
• It does not access your location, camera or microphone.

What DiveCut accesses on your device

Your photo library. DiveCut asks for permission to read the videos you choose to import, and for permission to save a finished reel back to your library. It reads only the videos you select. You can withdraw either permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Where your data is stored

Everything DiveCut creates — clips, extracted frames, scores, your swipe ratings and assembled reels — is stored inside the app's own storage area on your iPhone. It is covered by your device's encryption and by any device backup you have configured. It is never transmitted to DiveCut or to anyone else.

Deleting the app removes all of it.

Processing happens on your device

Scoring, clip selection and reel assembly run entirely on your iPhone, using Apple's on-device frameworks. No part of a video, and no data derived from a video, is sent off the device for processing.

When you share a reel

When you share or save a finished reel, DiveCut hands it to iOS's standard share sheet and you choose the destination — Photos, Messages, a social app, or anywhere else. From that point the reel is governed by the privacy policy of wherever you sent it. This is the only way footage leaves your device, and it only happens when you ask for it.

Apple

DiveCut is distributed through Apple's App Store and TestFlight. Apple collects its own information about downloads, and receives crash reports and usage data if you have opted in to sharing those with developers in your iOS settings. That information is handled under Apple's privacy policy, not this one. Any crash reports Apple passes to DiveCut are aggregated and do not identify you.

Children

DiveCut is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone. Since it collects nothing from anyone, this holds for all users.

Changes to this policy

If DiveCut's data handling changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
