Reporting a problem

Including these details usually saves a round trip:

• Your iPhone model and iOS version (Settings → General → About).
• What you were doing when it went wrong — importing, waiting for the reel, rating clips, exporting.
• Roughly how many videos you imported and how long they were.
• A screenshot or screen recording, if the problem is something you can see.

Testing the beta? You can also send feedback and screenshots from TestFlight. Screenshots can show your footage, so check them before you send.

Please don't send dive footage unless asked — it is rarely needed, and DiveCut is built so that your footage does not have to leave your phone.

Common questions

What do I need? An iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, running iOS 27, with Apple Intelligence turned on.

Does DiveCut need an internet connection? Not to import videos stored on your iPhone or a connected drive, or to process, rate or export them — it works on a dive boat with no signal. A video stored only in iCloud has to download before DiveCut can import it. Apple Intelligence has to finish downloading to your iPhone first, and the Privacy Policy and Support links in DiveCut's Settings need a connection.

Where did my reel go? Reels stay in the app until you export them. Exporting saves to your photo library or hands the file to whichever app you pick.

What does rating clips do? Keep and Love mark clips you want in the reel; Not this marks clips you want out. The reel length can leave kept clips out. Rejecting every clip can leave the previous or automatic reel showing. DiveCut learns from your ratings.

Why does DiveCut need so much space? DiveCut keeps its own copy of every video you import. If your iPhone doesn't have enough free space, DiveCut tells you instead of importing. In DiveCut's Settings (the gear at the top right), Storage shows how much space your imported videos use, and Remove Leftovers deletes copies and still frames that no dive uses. These copies are included in your iCloud backup, so they can make it much bigger.

How do I start over? Deleting a dive removes DiveCut's copy of its videos, and its clips, frames and scores. It doesn't remove what DiveCut has learned from your ratings. To erase everything DiveCut has stored on your iPhone, including what it has learned, delete the DiveCut app.

Privacy

The DiveCut app collects no personal data and has no server. If you test through TestFlight, Apple shares some testing information with us. The details are in the privacy policy.
